NAHSL 2023 Conference: Code of Conduct

NAHSL 2023: Code of Conduct

North Atlantic Health Science Libraries (NAHSL) values your attendance at the annual meeting and is committed to embodying and sustaining a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants. This code of conduct applies to anyone attending or associated with the conference including NAHSL members, exhibitors, or others. By attending the NAHSL annual meeting, we expect you to contribute to a supportive and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of our backgrounds or our differences.

Examples of harassing behavior include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Making hurtful and unwelcome comments or messages related to age, gender, gender identification, personal beliefs, physical appearance, physical or cognitive ability, or race
  • Making unwelcome or inappropriate gestures or messages
  • Exhibiting lewd, bullying, or threatening behavior towards others
  • Stalking others in person or online

NAHSL is dedicated to providing a safe and respectful experience at the annual meeting. Any participants engaging in harassing behavior may be warned and removed by the conference planning committee. This can include an email encouraging them to change their behavior, microphone/chat/Q&A privileges being turned off, and/or dismissal from the conference.

If you are being harassed, observe another participant being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a conference planning committee member. Conference planning committee members may be found on the NAHSL 2023 website's Planning Committee page. You may email any of the committee members for less urgent matters or submit an anonymous online form. All reports and inquiries will be handled in confidence.
