Enjoy Some More Summer!

Join your CAHSL colleagues for lunch at Lenny and Joe's Fish Tale in Madison. Then, spend the afternoon at Hammonasset Beach State Park! Sit on the bench, walk the Boardwalk, visit Meigs Point Nature Center, or just relax for as long as you please.

Family and friends are most welcome!

September Meeting & CE Program

Date:  Thursday, September 11th

Executive Board Meeting Time:  12:30-1

Program:  Grant and Proposal Writing

Program Time:  2:30-4

Description: This class, designed for beginning proposal writers, will teach you how to apply for funding opportunities. Each component of the grant writing process will be addressed, including: documenting the need; identifying the target population; writing measurable objectives; developing a work plan; an evaluation plan and dissemination plan.  We will explore examples of successful proposals for NN/LM NER funding.   Medical Library Association CE units will be awarded.

Speaker:  Michelle Eberle, MSLIS, AHIP, is the Health Literacy and Community Engagement Coordinator for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, New England Region (NN/LM NER).  For the past 11 years, she served as a reviewer and consultant for NN/LM NER funded projects.  She collaborated with NER staff to plan and write the NN/LM NER’s proposals for the 2006-2011 and 2011-2016 contracts.  Michelle plays an integral role in NER’s Focused Outreach and facilitates the Communities of Interest for Health Literacy and Healthy Communities.  She enjoys presenting on a variety of topics including proposal writing, NLM resources, and health literacy.

June 2014 Meeting

CAHSL enjoyed the Annual Meeting at On the Rocks at Fox Hopyard in Haddam. Evelyn Morgan, Kenny Marone (both pictured below) and Pat Wales were awarded CAHSL Emeritus status.
